25 “x 25″ x 25” Narrative Art Sculpture. Most of my career was spent in oil painting, until clay grabbed a hold of me and wouldn’t let go… Now I paint with glass on clay.. by applying layers of glaze in several repeat glaze fires .. a depth of color, crystal formation and texture is built up that just makes my heart sing to look at it…
Ahh, clown woman .. still figuring out this new character in my pantheon of cultural Gods.. … I admire her circus exploits and question them… all in one breath… Because Hope, yet hopes, that maybe she is a growing thing, and in-between thing, an on-the -way thing… Maybe she is just caught somewhere between unaware and knowing. After all no one holds her puppet strings. Well , except for her rabbit fears. And don’t you know? She is indeed Sitting Pretty atop her world? …Eyes safely shut, hair perfectly coiffed and make-up ready to play her part in her … ‘all the worlds a circus’…ACT. Is that a broken smiley face globe she sits on ? Or, is she hatching some better plan? See there off to the side , but not out of ear shot… her Thunderfoot self, the self she might yet grow up to be, holds her heart as she sings a prayer… that Sitting Pretty, might yet remember the original goal… the goal to grow up not childish but rather childlike true ..
